Woodlawn Pottery Studio Artists

Janet Cann

I grew up in a family of nature lovers and have always found solace in the stoic structure of forests and trees. In my pottery I have tried to capture a glimpse of birch and ash forests by combining an etching technique called ‘Scraffito’ and a wax resist glaze process.  The end result is functional and textured pottery with a folk art feel. The glazes I use are all non-toxic and safe for eating.  My pottery pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe.

This is usable art… so display it, use it, eat off it… enjoy it!
