Woodlawn Pottery Studio Artists

Liz Durden

I began working with clay in 2016 when I was studying Industrial Design at OCADU. I loved the versatility of the medium and took as many classes as I could, and before I knew it, I had a minor in Industrial Ceramics.

I continually seek to expand my skills, and I love to experiment and work iteratively. My pieces are made with a combination of slip-casting, hand-building, and wheel-throwing. Working in ceramics provides me with an outlet for tactile creativity.

I aim to create objects that bring joy to their user - prioritizing ease of use and playfulness in each piece. Excellent craftsmanship is integral to my work and I pride myself on the quality and functionality of what I create.
