Emily Allan

Emily is a Toronto-based creative who became infatuated with pottery in 2022. Born and raised on Bowen Island, BC, her comfort in nature inspires her pieces, as it always has her writing and music. She loves throwing big with earthy red clays, and cannot stop looking for the ocean in every hue of blue glaze. With a background in Anthropology, she’s also fascinated by the ancient and socio-cultural relevance of ceramics.

Emily started her pottery education under the wonderful Darryl Barnes at Akin Studio. She quickly became hooked, and began volunteering in 2024 at Inspirations Studio — a non-profit, low-barrier ceramics program where she now works part-time as a studio tech and teacher.
