Carolynn Bloomer is a graduate of Ontario College of Art (now OCADU). She maintains a studio where she enjoys making small-edition tableware, wall works, and sculptural mixed-media. Her work is in the collection of Scotiabank and has been purchased by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada. Carolynn is very happy to be able to combine her love of clay and teaching at Woodlawn Pottery. Danica Drago is an interdisciplinary artist and ceramic arts facilitator based in Toronto. They earned their B.Des in Material Art and Design: Jewellery & Metalsmithing from OCAD University in 2015, but spent most of their time in the Ceramics department. They have led a dedicated teaching practice in ceramics for the past 9 years, working with youth and adults in local studios across the GTA. As a mostly self and community-taught ceramicist, Danica’s practice as a tool and object maker spans over a decade of working with clay, metal, and many other material languages; allowing them to offer a uniquely encouraging and exploratory making approach for students of any learning style or level of experience. They are passionate about helping people build their own creative skills and confidence with clay, inside and outside of the studio.

Ian Symons studied ceramics at Rhode Island School of Design, Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and Alfred University, New York. A highly accomplished potter, Ian has won numerous awards for his art and has been part of over 50 art and ceramics exhibitions during his tenure. Ian has close to thirty years experience teaching ceramics including The Gardiner Museum, Sheridan College, George Brown College, Nova Scotia School of Fine Arts amongst others. Ian has also been awarded for his work from the National Biennial of Ceramics and Ontario Crafts.

Karin Pavey was born and grew up in Toronto. She began her ceramic studies in Sweden and is a graduate of both Sheridan College and the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design where she received a BFA. She was a ceramic instructor for many years at the Gardiner Museum. In addition, she has taught at Sheridan College, the ROM, Avenue Road School of the Arts and the Toronto District School Board. She currently works in her Toronto west end studio and teaches part time at the Woodlawn Studio. Karin is an established and respected Canadian potter whose colourful tableware has been exhibited in North America and Europe. She has been the recipient of many awards and honours, including grants from the Ontario Arts council, and her work has been showcased extensively in both public and private collections.
