Tina Gougoushvili

My ceramics journey started with beginner wheel-throwing classes in 2022, but making things has been an essential part of my life for as long as I can remember. In a society that centers consumption and constant productivity, making ceramics invites a different relationship to time, labour, and value. I am interested in the ways that craft reconnects us to the objects we use every day and to the fingerprints of labour that they carry.

​While I started with functional ceramics, as many do, I am now exploring more sculptural and detailed work. I am excited by the possibility of pushing beyond utility and seeing where experimentation, curiosity, and the clay will lead me. For me, ceramics is an ongoing conversation between myself, the medium, and the world we live in. I look forward to seeing how that conversation continues to evolve in the years ahead.
